Devlog 8: The last square of the puzzle

Welcome back traveller!
Take a chair and sit by the fire for this is the end of a big chapter in this exciting tale!
It was a stressy week with some messy situations but in the end, as per usual, we prevailed.
We are proudly sharing with you our last new features that were added to the game for the ultimate arcade climbing experience!
As always we have our 2 clear categories.
The programmers:
- 50 cans of bugspray have been emptied this week!
- Improved the laser effect
- Added boundaries to the level
- Implemented a block that deteriorates over time once the player walks on it, it shakes and shatters into pieces
- Reworked portals, they teleport 2 sided with 1 use and have more visual feedback
- A deadly block has entered the chat, jump on it and die immediately!
- The highscore now gets displayed on death
- An entirely new player model has been added, given functionality and corresponding animations!
- There has been put care and precision in the flow of the level! While some parts might need a slight bit more balancing for a more divided flow, we're definitly getting there.
- More particle effects have been applied to give more player feedback, explosives
- Since the camera felt a bit janky, it has been reworked to add an easier flow to the game
- A lot of backend code has been cleaned and reworked to support all these expansions!
- Made the UI completely functional
- The explosive block can now be used to safely boost the player upwards
The artists:
Big Block Updates!
- Updated the Styx/Cave Tetris Block to fit the less resolution-heavy style
- Added a whole new set of special blocks you will find throughout the stages (Blast blocks, Portals, deteriorating and instant death) each with their own stage-variant!
To Infinity and beyond in the infinite Space Stage!
- Designed space Tetris Block Shape
- Added the final, endless, Space stage to the game
- Designed various space assets to be randomly scattered in the space environment
- A UFO
- 3 different types of planets
- Space Shuttle and rockets
- Space station
- The Tesla Roadster
- Laser gun (also to be used as the Laser Obstacle)
Giving some love to the other Stages
- Quick Lighting pass of the Hell environment and added Emissive to the lava
Giving the character a bit more character
- Redesigned Character applying feedback
- Remodeled Character Mesh
- Reworked Animation for character
